2011
marked the fortieth anniversary of
Operation Good Cheer. Each year since its
inception in 1971, this all volunteer gift
giving program has helped to provide a
happy Christmas to hundreds of children,
teenagers, and adults with disabilities. |
|
|
In
2011 we served
More than 4,580 recipients State-wide
(infants, children, teenagers, and adults
with disabilities) affiliated with 48
agencies [private, nonprofit social
service agencies and foster care,
residential treatment, and group homes]. |
|
|
Through
the volunteer efforts of
Over
270
donor groups, organizations, and
individuals; 17 transport companies; 17
airports State-wide; 200 flights by 185 pilots; and more
than 300
volunteers at the airport. |

Although we are pleased with the ongoing success of our program, even during
these difficult economic times, we continue to see a rise in the number of
abuse and neglect victims placed in foster care each year. This means our
target population is also growing. Each year corporations, small businesses,
civic organizations, and private individuals join in our efforts through
contributions of time, monetary donations, and gift purchases. If you would
like to become a part of this program, please contact our Program Coordinator. |
